The Know Group has opened its second Love Thy Neighbour venue with the help of a £70,000 investment from MSIF.

Love Thy Neighbour is a branded independent food and drink café. The concept for the eatery was founded upon the principal of healthy eating within an ambient, welcoming and holiday-style setting.

The first Love Thy Neighbour was established on Bold Street in 2016, and was a huge hit with the Liverpool City Region. The café grew from strength to strength, opening for breakfast, lunch and dinner, selling popular dishes including its famous Smoothie Bowls and Chickpea Pancakes.

Following Liverpools’ success, Know Group Directors, Steven and Nicola Hesketh set up a second Love Thy Neighbour in a different part of the North West - Chorlton, Manchester. The business opened in December 2017 and has had a great reception from locals.

The café is open from 12 noon – midnight every day, and sells a range of dishes including brunch, skewers and snacks, and their unique Buddha Bowls.

Love Thy Neighbour Chorlton has employed seven staff members initially.

Steven Hesketh, Know Group CEO said: “Chorlton has been the perfect fit for Love Thy Neighbour - a true bohemian subculture with a healthy mix of style and substance. We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from the close knit community here since we opened and with plans for lots of collaborations and events 2018 looks like it will be a very fun year for our second venue."

Steven added: “We are delighted to have been supported in our growth by MSIF and we are so pleased they saw the vision and direction for this young and vibrant brand in the Know Group.”

Andy Jones, MSIF Investment Manager, said: “It has been great to work with the Love Thy Neighbour team – they understand their unique brand and offering, which has led to their success. The new business in Chorlton will follow in the original Bold Street branches footsteps, and I look forward to seeing its development and mirrored success story.”
