Francis McEntegart is a barrister specialising in media, intellectual
property and commercial law.
Francis, 33, is recommended in the Legal 500, the independent guide
to law firms, for his work on behalf of music companies, artists,
authors, publishers and the creative industries. He also advises clients
in the film and theatre industries. His commercial client base extends
from start-ups, SMEs and large blue-chip companies. His main work
is agency, distribution, franchising, contract drafting, terms and
conditions, data protection, intellectual property and ecommerce.
After reading law at the University of Liverpool, he gained his professional
qualifications at the Inns of Court School of Law in London and is
a member of Grays Inn.
His first professional role was working within the Northern Ireland
Office, where he was involved in negotiations with leading politicians
from the province in the drafting the Good Friday Agreement. He subsequently
became head of legal and business affairs, first with the London based
music publisher Haripa and then with the record company Kickin Records
Ltd, before leaving London to return to the North West in 1999. |
