Varied career background in industry, commerce and local government prior to studying for A levels and a law degree. Thereafter completed articled clerkship with Lees Lloyd Whitley Solicitors working in Liverpool, Birkenhead and London. Specialising throughout in Employment Law. Headed the Employment Law Team, presenting seminars and instigator, contributor and presenter of Employment Law Bulletin.

Left Lees Lloyd Whitley in 1994 and set up Labour Lex Limited as a limited liability company specialising in Employment Law providing services to SME clients and individuals.

Also worked part-time after company set up providing employment law advice on a help-line for the Institute of Personnel Development at Hammond Suddards in Manchester.

Throughout my career I have presented seminars and created then presented training courses both bespoke and general for the SME clients.

I advise clients on the telephone by e-mail and fax. Draft Contracts and Handbooks and assist with procedures discipline, redundancy etc.

I also conduct advocacy in the Tribunal on behalf of my corporate and individual clients as and when required. My Corporate client base rarely has need of advocacy services and I believe that this is because they take the advice given and therefore have very few claims made against them.

My client base is throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

My company is fully insured and I am proud to say that to date there have not been any claims against it nor against me personally throughout my career.
