New Investment Director joins MSIF's Venture Fund

A new Investment Director has been appointed to Merseyside Special Investment Fund.

Mark Borzomato, 33, joins MSIF’S £40m Venture Fund from BNFL plc where he spent three years as Group Corporate Finance Manager, playing a fundamental role in a number of corporate transactions, including the recent $5.4bn sale of BNFL’s US operation, Westinghouse.

Before that he was a senior executive based in Ernst and Young’s North West region, where he spent 5 years advising numerous companies, management teams and investors on a wide variety of mid market transactions.

Mark said: “I am delighted to be joining MSIF at what is an exciting time, both for the business and the Merseyside region in general. The Venture Fund has an expanding portfolio of interesting companies and a significant number of proposals in the pipeline.”

MSIF’s Managing Director, Fund Manager, Mark Fuller said: “We are delighted Mark is joining the Venture Fund. He is an astute dealmaker with an impressive track record handling complex multi million pound transactions. I am confident he will be a great asset to the team.”

Mark’s role will involve working alongside Investment Director Matt Allen and Portfolio Director Jerry Mobbs.

MSIF provides loans and equity packages from £3000-£3million. The £40m Venture Fund is the largest of MSIF’s four funds and provides equity investments of up to £2m.

Mark, is originally from the North East and remains a Middlesbrough season ticket holder . He lives in Woolton and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
