INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY MOVES TO LIVERPOOL

A specialist ‘multi manager’ investment firm with over £100m of assets under management is expanding into Liverpool with backing from Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF).

Mercater Capital Management has opened offices in Liverpool after receiving a £400,000 investment package from MSIF’s £40m Venture Fund. Mercater’s Liverpool operation is now based in ‘The Plaza’ on Old Hall Street.

MSIF’s investment has enabled Mercater to buy established investment company Scott Lang Investment Management, increasing assets under their control from only £10m just over a year ago, to current levels of over £100m.

Chief Executive of Mercater, Alaric Gordon said:

Mercater specialises solely in managing portfolios of investment funds (known as multi management) within the private client investment management sector, and prides itself on its bespoke personal service.
