Sky’s The Limit For North West Precision Forms
13th March 2007
A Wirral business that manufactures specialist aircraft components is expanding with a funding package totalling over £800k including backing from Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF)
North West Precision Forms Limited (NWPF) makes over 6000 different parts, assemblies and tools for the aerospace industry and is one of the UK's only approved manufacturers.
Clients include industry giants Airbus and U.S. based Raytheon who are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of business and defence aircraft.
The finance package comprised £100k from MSIF and support from NatWest and the DTI. The funding will be used to buy new premises and state-of-the-art machinery.
NWPF is a family business run by brothers Miles and Justin Tudor and their sister Michelle Davies. Their parents Glyn and Patricia Tudor set up the company in 1973.
Managing Director Miles Tudor said: “The company grew steadily over the years but after 9/11 the aviation industry was severely affected and we saw a significant downturn in business. We overcame this difficult period and managed to retain all our staff, which was hugely important because of their specialist skills. Now air travel is at an all time high and last year was our best to date.
“The investment from MSIF means we are in a position to expand and grow the business considerably.”
Investment Manager from MSIF, Alan Birkett said: “This well-established family business has shown strength and determination to overcome the adversity faced post 9/11. The aviation sector is now thriving and we are pleased to be supporting NWPF’s expansion”
NWPF currently employ 95 staff and expect to take on a further 20 over the next three years.
